I bought them for salsa beginners. My feet have a narrow heel and wide toe and these shoes stay in place without chafing the heel or squeezing the toes. They are very light and the heel is soft and durable. The soles have enough slip for a wooden floor in a dance studio; I can twist and turn without getting caught on the sole, but not involuntarily slipping. I might try a higher heel in a few months, but for now it's great to learn when to shift weight from the ball of the foot to the heel, as well as crossovers where I step on my own foot.
