I borrowed another phone, scanned the QR code, downloaded the software and restarted. Again, this would not add the device. The software told me to reset my settings and try again, which I did multiple times. Maybe someone else can get this to work, but I can't. The block was replaced and I had the same problem. You have an "EZ" installation method that didn't work. You have a manual method that depends on the device slowly flashing a green light. Having never been able to get either device to blink green, I have no idea if this method will work. I have disabled antivirus on my phone. I restarted my phone. The program recognizes the device but does not add it. So it was a waste of over an hour every time I tried to get this to work. I have contacted their tech support, they are replacing a unit that appears to be faulty. Support is slow, but it's there. I'm changing this to three stars due to tech support. If the new block isn't better than this one I will come back and change the rating to one star. Keep all of that in mind when considering this as a purchase. It might work but I couldn't install the phone app. It says it sees the device and then circles and circles and says the install failed. If the autoscan installation fails, there are manual installation instructions. Press and hold the button until it flashes green, then continue. I held the button until it turned off, about 4 minutes. He never turned green. For people with normal fingers, the keys are too close together. I have turned off and restarted the device several times. Eventually it seemed to install and it stopped and the system drained. Now the phone was on so I'm not sure if the system timed out. When troubleshooting, it was suggested that distance might be a factor. I was originally 8 feet from my router. After repeated installation failures, I switched from the router to 6 inches. So the device, my phone and the router were within 12 inches of each other and it still didn't install. It seemed like a good idea, but the phone software doesn't work with the device. I'm not using a weird different brand phone, it's Samsung and the software is installed or seems to be installed correctly. Very disappointed with the wasted time.
