Good system for the price. MAKE SURE READ MY UPDATED REVIEW

The 10 year old backup camera system in our 28ft RV was so worn it needed replacing. I was tempted to use the wireless system but there was enough negative feedback and I decided to stick with the wired one. This would mean running a new cable from the cabin up to the roof top where the previous cable was installed, which was no easy task. But having been an auto technician for 40 years, I was familiar with interior panels etc. I made sure I had everything hooked up PRIOR TO INSTALLATION to ensure everything worked and the picture was acceptable for what it was. Quick Disclaimer: Due to the CoVid19 virus we could not use the system in "real life”. Just parked with him in the yard. With the previous monitor, I dismantled and installed the interior rearview mirror because the mirror is unusable. The necessary wires, power, trigger and ground were already in place above the driver's door, which eased the pain somewhat. Routing the cable to the rear roofline from inside was challenging, but not impossible. It just takes a lot of time. In general, I am satisfied with the performance. I only need this when backing up, I don't have a JIC spotter. So it suits my needs. I haven't used night vision much but from what I can see it will work fine. I'm confused by the number of people who want to use it all the time. I find it distracting from driving, but if you want you do NOT need to connect it to the parking lights. Just press the "power" button on the monitor and it turns on. Pros: Inexpensive system, fairly good image, wide angle (side-to-side), easy wiring. Cons: Can be difficult to route cables depending on vehicle and skill level. The screws holding the camera to the mount are SMALL! Throw one in the grass and you'll never find it. They also began to rust within a few weeks. UPDATE 06/20/2020 Three months after the installation we were actually able to use our mobile home. Wow, as soon as I turned MH backwards I just got a sky blue screen. I've gone through all the settings again, to no avail. Checked connections, no improvement. I contacted Revain who gave me the seller's email address. I immediately messaged them that I had a problem and suspected a defective camera. I received a reply within 12 hours along with a 99.9% discount code for a FULL system exchange which I received within 2 days and prior to our departure date. New camera hooked up and everything was fine. After removing the old camera, I found that it contained about 2 tablespoons of water. As a retired mechanic, I wanted to know how and why. I found loose screws holding the two cases together so the rubber pad wasn't putting enough pressure on them. Just in case, I inverted the lens barrel and filled it with water. After a few hours no water came out. I also dipped the main body with the cable down to see if it went through the back of the case around the cable. There's nothing there either. Result? Before installing, check the screws that hold the two cases together. I would also put some caulk on where the cable runs at the back just in case. Excellent customer service! Hopefully the new camera is fully waterproof as they claim.
