I used to shoot a lot of videos with a small camera like the Kodak ZI8 or even older Flip models. Sometimes I also used my iPhone. Since I used small cameras, I put together a collection of small tripods that were too flimsy to hold my Canon EOS M and any major lens. I bought it to solve this problem. I didn't use it as a tripod mount, but being able to use it that way was an advantage for me too. I've attached a picture of a tripod along with an EOS M with a Canon EF-EOS mount adapter and an EFS 55-250mm IS lens.
