Use the C-clip mount as the edge is not enough to screw on. This table stand was perfect. The base and stand are heavy. The stand is heavy enough to support my Philips 246E9QDSB 24 inch frameless monitor https://www.amazon.com/Philips-246E9QDSB-Frameless-1920x1080-FreeSync/dp/B07CK4W58Y. Unlike those clip-style levers that can't be moved until you unlock them, god forbid you had to poke a hole in the table, this freestanding stand lets me move all over the table. I haven't had any problems with the allen wrench, although I see a lot of people complaining about how difficult it is to use. I bet they used the wrong ending. You stick the short end into the screw hole and use the long end as a handle, not the other way around. I gotta be smarter than a wrench, guys. I had an issue with the VESA mount, but that's not the fault of this unit. The connectors on the back of my Philips monitor are about 1/8 inch higher and the bottom edge of the mounting plate blocks the HDMI and D-Sub connectors. I posted two pictures. Looking at the design of other mounting plates, I have the same problem with them, my grandson is coming tomorrow to grind the mounting plate for me.
