We're not particularly prone to allergies or dust in our household, so these filters provide just the right filter performance. They're not dense enough to put too much strain on our HVAC system, but they do trap allergens, dust, and cat dander. Also, finding the right filter sizes for my system can be difficult (we have three different sizes of air returns). So if I can find them all online, all the better.

many say they are too small but they always have to be compressed a bit to even fit in the hole in my air conditioner / oven ( suitable) because the oven is very is tightly mounted in a very small space and in fact the door frame is so close to the stove that it is difficult to insert the filter properly. Someone didn't really think about incorporating a filter when making these doors for a ventilated and air-conditioned space, or simply cut corners during construction.

They are very well made - the body is solid and the filter itself fits well. The filter material is thick and not spotty like some other brands I've used. The biggest problem, as other users have remarked, is that they are too small! For the last 15 years I have been going to my local hardware store/Lowes and buying a 12x24" filter for my home's HVAC system. In any case, they all fit tightly. The 12x24 filter is not suitable. It's far to lose. Its width and height are about 1/4 inch smaller than the old filter. That's what the description says, but you don't really have to read the fine print in the dimensions to know that the 12x24 filter actually measures 23.3 x 11.5 inches. I understand that measurements can be inaccurate and that when the manufacturer of each product trims a little and calls it 12 inches, they do some can save money after 2.5 million filters; but I expect it to be close. The 12 x 24 Ace hardware filter I removed was actually 11 3/4 x 23 3/4; A third grade mathematician tells you round up to 12 x 24.
