Unfortunately, this does not work continuously due to changes in light. In order for the puzzle to work, there must be a good light source, which is difficult to explain to a child. My niece really liked this puzzle, but when it got dark in the evening the puzzle stopped working. I thought it might be the batteries so I swapped them out and when I tried it in the kitchen it worked again. When I gave it back to her it stopped working again when she went to another room. I can keep it working with a flashlight all the time. I will definitely come back as she was very upset. You need to develop a better trigger mechanism.
