I have long wanted Bluetooth speakers that I can connect a dozen or more to for parties. When I saw this popup on Linus Tech Tips on YouTube, I felt like someone had answered my prayers. I ordered 6 of them and am mostly very satisfied and give 4 out of 5 stars. Okay, the sound quality is great, and since it also has an adjustable in-app equalizer, it comes out really well. The batteries seem to power them for around 8 hours and the light does the trick. I'm approaching 1011 with the lights off. That's about halfway up the volume control and I didn't turn it up higher because they're surprisingly loud. The Base Boost works really well but isn't necessary if you're using an EQ. All of the devices appear to be ROBUST and in fact I threw them all on the floor in my son's carpeted room and then played a Call of Duty grenade toss to wake my son up. Trust me when I tell you this, these things included in CALL of Duty will wake up any sleeping teenager. Luckily for him, two of them were for him. They work great in the shower, in fact I've noticed my son singing in the shower, we can hear him through the walls. They worked great even in a downpour, I had no trouble getting water on them. I am very happy with this feature. Pro Tip - Pairing is easy, but only connect one of them to your phone, tablet or laptop via Bluetooth or they will all connect to your devices automatically. This greatly simplifies synchronization. Cons… These speakers only appear to charge via USB-C, but they don't work like the speakers a PC sees, which is a little disappointing. I have non-Bluetooth computers in the shop so it would be nice to be able to connect them as desktop speakers. This is a missed opportunity for anchors. We also have new speakers with 4 USB-C outputs to connect external speakers, which unfortunately do not work. Another missed opportunity. The buttons on the top of the device are really hard to see; They should have made them thicker or with bigger icons so you can at least get a sense of what it is. Anker should paint them a color that looks like white or heck make them glow from underneath. I'm starting to build muscle memory of where the buttons are based on where the rubber insert and logo are on the sides. I don't have to remember it. Ugly lights, different models are very limited to about four settings. I would like more control over colors and patterns. The app doesn't offer many customizable options. Also, if they could connect to a PC it would be great to sync them to RGB on my computers. The app is very limited and the best feature is really the equalizer. Aside from the equalizer, I actually have a hard time justifying installing an app. Audio lag...when watching video...I'm connected to fiber optics at home and at work, we have multiple backbones in our building. I work on very expensive laptops, some very powerful workstations and gaming consoles. When I watch a video, the audio lags about 1.5 seconds. Those weren't PC speakers. My phones and tablets experience a delay of about 2 seconds in audio from YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo, Netflix or TikTok videos. Sure, it's very handy for just listening to music, which is what this device was designed for, but don't expect audio to be synced to video.
