The thing does not work, please do not buy. Yes, the magnet is strong enough to hold my phone and even my iPad, which is what I've used it for. The problem is that the magnet doesn't cope with even the smallest bumps in the road (which is inevitable) and immediately slips off the mount. When I pick up my tablet from the car floor, the magnet still sticks to the iPad. I had high expectations for this product but I have to give an honest review. If the magnet were much stronger this product would be extremely useful but it is not. My advice is to find a real mount for your back seat entertainment.
