Looks much better than hospital/nursing home grab rails

Purchased for disabled son to use during visits. Attractive. The lack of blockage behind the drywall has been circumvented. An experienced carpenter friend made a two-ply piece of wood to attach to the studs in front of the drywall. The back is screwed into the rivets. The front is bolted to the back to counteract the recessed nuts and keep the bolts hidden. The cloth/beam is attached to the wood with long wood screws from the manufacturer. He even treated the woodwork for style. Now we have to wait for the son to come and use it. There isn't much room on the wall in the bathroom to add a grab bar and a separate towel rail. My son kept trying to hold on to the flimsy towel rail attached to Molly's studs for stability now that he's lost his balance. Would have been pulled out of the wall if I hadn't kept stopping him. I hope that makes him feel safe.
