Mixed reviews good for everyday backpacks

I posted a separate review but there were two women in our group who had it with me. Your experience was different. One of our group was an 80-year-old woman of short stature. She is very energetic and still actively hikes, walked the App Trail for a week last year so she is not "normal". She didn't like the bag and wished she had brought a roller bag. Her biggest problem was height and weight. Even with these dimensions, your bag can get heavy. The problem was that she found it difficult to carry the bag, so she had to put it on like a backpack. But because of her size, she also had to attach a travel backpack to the front to balance herself, and trying to do that while rushing to trains and planes can be a real challenge. It must have taken a long time to click all the time. Another woman in our group was under 56 and was carrying a travel pack and she loved it. It's much more "rugged" and had no problem navigating through all the latches and connections. I have only used backpack straps a couple of times but they have worked well and I have never used a strap. I usually carried a bag and slung a backpack over my shoulder. There seem to be two main considerations: your size and the logistics of your trip. If you're constantly on the move and have lots of connections, this might not be for the trip. If you are smaller you may not want to carry a bag and this forces you to constantly unzip, unfold and snap shut. For me, a tall man, it worked well and I will use it again. I prefer a backpack to a bag, especially when walking around town before checking into our hotel. Much easier. Our mid 50's traveler liked it but the smaller traveler didn't like it and will probably never use it again. We have boarded or controlled the gate with these bags on almost every flight and have rarely had a problem getting them on and off the plane quickly. They worked well on trains and were suitable for all overheads.
