I ordered this for my granddaughter for pajama day at school. It was adorable on her and she said she received tons of compliments. She said the pj's are comfortable too. The material is thick enough; not see through. These pj's could pass for a costume actually. They are that substantial. I read the reviews and decided I should order a size up. So glad I did. The shirt, like most Christmas pj shirts, for some reason tapers in and fits closer to the body the closer it get to the hemline. Had I ordered her normal size 14, the shirt would have been to snug around the stomach. Ordering a 16 gave a perfect fit. Not too snug and not loose either. I don't know what's will happen when laundered. I will wash in cold water just to be safe. If the top shrinks it will be snug around the stomach and the shirt does go over the butt. The bottoms fit fine in the waist and although she had a little room in the butt, it did not look baggy; besides the shirt covers the butt.
