I've never used a curling iron and certainly can't curl with a straightener no matter how many YouTube videos I watch. The angle makes it much easier than a regular stick. I usually curl my hair away from my face and not towards it and this allows me to do both sides easily without being clumsy and allows me to keep my curls even on both sides. The timer is also very useful! FYI my hair type is fine
