My piercing has been fully healed for 32 years. I have a wide range of metals that are machined with no problems. I have NEVER had a reaction to metal that I have worn. They were packaged well and although larger than a typical piercing, they were the size I needed for my ears. I have 3 love piercings and was able to insert them with no problem. . . they are easy to open and close. You could sleep comfortably in it. When I woke up the next morning, my ears were a little red and swollen. I figured it was the result of sleeping with them as I don't usually sleep with earrings on. The next day they got worse. On the third day they are red, swollen, hot to the touch and weeping. I went to a professional piercer who insisted it was NOT stainless steel and pointed out where the metal was no longer shiny and my ears were grey. He replaced them with stainless steel hoops of the same size. Even though it's only been 24 hours, my ears feel noticeably better. I would not advise buying them and would strongly discourage you from doing so. This is the first time I've ever had a problem with my piercing.
