This little device works quite well. When using the flash, the lighting is noticeably softer and more natural, which also allows for faster shutter speeds in dimly lit rooms. The little black flap seems pointless as I didn't notice much of a difference. If this is supposed to be an indirect mechanism, then black is not a suitable color because it simply absorbs the light from the flash. The damper on my clear diffuser is broken, but I don't think it's a big deal. It would be nice if these things were foldable, allowing you to quickly stuff them in your camera bag. As they stand now, they will easily break or damage your hot shoe if you just put it in your pocket. If that's not an option, they can be slightly smaller but still have the same effect. It's about 1.5 inches smaller than my A6300. I would say this set is no more than $10 for 4 plastic pieces. I appreciate the effort the designers put into making them, but they could be greatly improved for the price.
