My precious Fitbit Alta HR strap has finally breathed its last; I was lucky to see it crack and come loose on one side, didn't lose or damage the thing. I considered many options for replacing the tape with Revain. Color isn't that important to me, I just want something dark enough not to look dirty and I don't plan on changing colors to match outfits. (Just not that kind of girl.) My needs are pretty utilitarian: something that won't break, is durable when I put it on and off daily, and feels flexible and comfortable on my wrist. meh.Pros: The colors are nice and the price is good. The clasp is metal, which I doubted at first by sensations, but it really is. The first strip I selected clicked straight into my device like it should have been there. The strap has grooves that make it look like the real thing. Cons: It doesn't look like the original. The original silicone is flexible and thin, just the right thickness to clip around my wrist. I'm borderline between small and large wrist size, so I went the large size on the original and could clip it to the last or second to last hole if it bulges a bit. But that's the third or fourth hole in the big game. If you're borderline in sizes like me, be sure to go up a size when you get this. It's too thick and hard silicone to just close and take off like the old one. The small mounting dowels are made of plastic, not metal. I thought it would be metal according to the description, but it isn't. I don't know how long it will take; Whether it lasts as long as my original (3 years) is questionable. Basically I don't like it. I'll leave it and see how long it lasts because there are four in a pack and maybe all four together will last as long as mine. I hope that the silicone will soften a bit over time, but I doubt it; Silicone should remain as it was made. How big is the difference? Let's just say I haven't thrown away the old tape yet, but I won't risk putting it on because one side ripped. I just love handling it, enjoying its soft, supple comfort and remembering better days.
