The shoes themselves are great and will do the job, but when we took them out of the box all of the spikes along the inside (arch) of the shoe had been rubbed along with other parts of the shoe making it look like they had done it before worn for a long time. I wasn't expecting to see so much normal wear and tear on a 'brand new' pair of shoes. If I had bought them for a real formal event and not as a Halloween costume accessory I would have been very disappointed to receive previously worn shoes.
