Two reasons why I keep it: doesn't need to be installed/dismantled often. I got it at a discount at a Revain Warehouse deal. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it for its intended use, i.e. laptop support. The lower hinge could hardly be opened - I'm a guy and had to put a lot of effort into it - a quick look at the instructions shows that this is "normal" and that it takes a little force to open it. So, FORGET about using it as something to throw in your backpack or regularly set up and take down. NO laptop would stick to it. They include a set of allen keys so I was able to tighten the top hinge decently enough to hold my lightweight monitor securely. Yes, you can undo that bottom hinge as well, but the whole setup seems questionable for use with a laptop of any weight. In the end I think it was just bad design - it's metal, the edge of the shelf is deep and soft. , and it looks good, but the hinge system is poorly implemented. If you need a metal laptop stand, there are better options.
