This is still a great product for darkening a car dashboard when parked in the sun. Well designed, well done. It opens and slides easily over the dashboard and behind the visors. Reflective on the outside and black on the front. Easily rolls up and folds into a round package that fits snugly between the passenger seat and the center console. The above applies to this day. However, in December I noticed that the metal spring, surrounded by a thin fabric edge stitching, had frayed through and the metal was protruding on both the left and right lampshades, as can be seen in the photo. I used these shades which are no different from almost identical ones that lasted over five years ago. I can only hope that the manufacturer has noticed this problem from other customers and has tried to use a stronger, abrasion-resistant fabric for the edge seam containing the spring wire.
