Definitely not for nail polish remover
I bought these because I wanted something to dip in nail polish remover and remove around the nails but they didn't absorb nail polish remover. There is almost no cotton on the tips. Well, to dust something that has a little gap, they will, but if you want to try and absorb cleaning liquid or whatever, they won't. However, they are very strong. You just need more cotton on the tips.
