The glass is designed to completely block light but is actually translucent. This makes it useless to me because I bought it to store an antioxidant cream and the antioxidants are destroyed by exposure to light. (Google "light effect on antioxidant stability page: .gov OR page: .edu" to see scientific research on this.) Light transmission wouldn't be an issue if I were trying to store a simple cream that just moisturizes and doesn't contain any antioxidants. , or if I would be willing to keep the jar covered with aluminum foil, but no.
