They are installed differently than most floating shelves. Instead of clipping them onto metal brackets, there are two holes in the back of the shelf. The bracket is U-shaped with two long bars that fit into holes on the back of the shelf. Because they're deeper these bars make them really strong - and I found fitting the bracket very easy because I could use my spirit level in the middle of the bracket - no need to measure eight different spots just to find a still crooked shelf to have. .That's a great price, but it also means less premium materials. The white polish chipped easily, and I dropped one of mine and chipped it off immediately. You have to be careful when you take them out of the box.
