I also use it on the new HDTV.

I am using this Sony CD/DVD player with my new Sony HDTV and it works great. I hooked it up to my HDTV using "Component Cables" (a set of 3 cables in a pack that I bought separately) and now I can play 480p DVD movies with the "Progressive Scan" button on watch the player. Great video. I also play music from CDs in MP3 format recorded onto a CD (music at all bitrates etc) but Sony handles ALL of that perfectly. No freezing. DVD? No problem, very satisfied!
