📀 Sony Silver DVP-NS55P/S Single Disc DVD Player Review

I am using this Sony CD/DVD player with my new Sony HDTV and it works great. I hooked it up to my HDTV using "Component Cables" (a set of 3 cables in a pack that I bought separately) and now I can play 480p DVD movies with the "Progressive Scan" button on watch the player. Great video. I also play music from CDs in MP3 format recorded onto a CD (music at all bitrates etc) but Sony handles ALL of that perfectly. No freezing. DVD? No problem, very satisfied!

Bought this DVD player; came defective - loud buzz on audio channels. Sony tech support confirmed this was a marriage and sent it back. Revain was great, sent a replacement straight away. The player itself was quite good - picture quality, settings, etc. But only after 8 months it stopped playing discs that we put in - "cannot be played", there was one message on the display. Why am I giving it 4 stars you might be wondering? The answer is simple - replacing the player was the best experience in servicing the product under warranty.
