Review on 🐠 Aqueon Pro Adjustable Aquarium Heater by Alexandria Richmond

I've been using this heater in my 60 gallon outdoor pond since the fall and it keeps the water in Vermont all winter long with temperatures sometimes below freezing and typically 10-20 years open. I put a single (uninsulated) glass storm window over the pond, removed a pane over the fountain, and the pond has never iced over all winter! I have some bizarre guppies and while I don't know if they survived as I can't see very well in a covered pond, the water is never icy, even on very cold nights. Most days the water seems to be warm. I would 100% recommend this outdoor water heater in winter: it suited me perfectly for that purpose! Works much better than a pond deicer of the same capacity and much more economical than a higher capacity pond deicer. Attached to the filter box at the bottom of the pond, it heats the water before it enters the pump and protects the pump and fountain from freezing. The suction cups don't hold the box filter very well as it's curved and plastic, but it works great between two rocks. I glued it to the pond wall in the fall and it worked fine there, just put it closer to the pump for the winter so it heats the water in the well better so the well doesn't freeze. Not sure if this would have worked if the pond hadn't been covered, but with minimal effort and an old storm window, it works great!
