Revain is scrapping a defective product - will they leave this review?

Now we know why the price was lowered - the devices have defects. I ran it in a cold tank as instructed and it stalled with a blue flashing death light. Yes, I know my temperature is below the set temperature, but the number has never changed. I disabled it to reset and the new temporary entry is registered never to move again. Reset, reset, reset, and the LCD never shows the exact temperature after the initial reset. Thank you Revain for getting rid of a defective item by lowering the price. I

Works well after tuning

I've read the reviews and noticed a number of reviews that the LCD jumps around and registers low flow. I faced the same problem. I did some googling and came across a forum post where someone emailed a response from Fluval regarding this issue. The email pointed out that if the guard was in an upright position, it could hold hot water near the sensor. Her recommendation was to mount it at a 45 degree angle. Once I moved mine from vertical to 45 degrees. The LCD has stabilized and is no longer…

This heater is not what you are looking for.

Sorry, I'm writing another bad review for this product here. When other reviewers left comments about this terrible heater, they weren't kidding. I read the directions and then placed it in the perfect spot in my tank, but it didn't heat the water. This is confusing, why would there be a heater showing blue to tell me the water is too cold instead of turning it on and heating to the right temperature? Fluval E did it all the time. I left my old heater there and when it heated the water properly

I think I've finally got it installed

After another heater decided to leave the heat on rather than turn it off while it was almost cooking the fish I decided to try this as a replacement. I wasn't sure if I would return this one because when I put it in the tank and let it acclimate for over 20 minutes and then plugged it in it showed 72.5 flashing blue. He did this for several hours without changing the temperature on the display, although other thermometers indicated he was warmer. I disabled it and restarted, it showed 76…

This is a great heater, the bad reviews are probably all user error.

This heater is probably the best heater I have had and I have tried several. It's important that you read the instructions, don't buy more heater power than you need to maintain, and generally understand how the heater works. 1) The instructions expressly state that the heater must not be placed vertically in the tank. This is because the temperature sensor is at the top of the heater and the heat rises. When the heater is placed vertically in your aquarium, all heat generated is compounded and

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Doubtful

Fluval: tested on THREE different devices. GARBAGE. Does not heat up in a vertical position even with a large water flow. Out of desperation I bought Aqueon Pro. Ideally, it heats up within 4 hours. Update: Conducted a controlled experiment with both brands of heaters: Aqueon Pro: Recommended horizontal placement for better heating. works perfectly. Set up vertically (same position as Fluval) it also heats up super. Fluval: As mentioned, it doesn't heat up properly when held upright. Tested…

This heater was an unpleasant experience for me. .

This heater was a disappointing experience for me. So why am I giving 4 stars? Spring. Compared to other heaters, it has some real advantages. Continue reading. I've had heaters that cooked fish and often hit the glass tube with scuba gear, as well as ones that failed completely (didn't cook fish but stopped working without warning). This heater gave errors even when placed under my foam filter and showed bubbles indicating low water flow. This was eventually fixed when I added a high current…

Finally a slim heater

First of all I don't get all the 1 star reviews. If "LF" is the problem, it's relatively easy to fix. The most important thing is circulation. in large tanks so that the water has the same temperature everywhere. I've been using this 300w heater for about 3 weeks now and am very impressed so far. I have a 55 gallon fresh water tank with an Eheim canister filter. , which has an inlet at one end of the tank and an outlet through a sprinkler at the other end of the tank. My old heater stopped…

Great heater but it takes a few steps to work perfectly:

Great heater and very accurate. It's within 0.5 degrees of my thermometer. There are a few steps that need to be followed to get it working properly. I would like Fluval to update their manual as the vertical mounting of this heater according to their instructions is incorrect. Your support will provide you with updated instructions on how to set it up correctly when you contact them. Here's what I did to make it work properly: 1- It MUST be mounted at a 45 degree angle with the bottom end…
