There are two strong hinges, meaning they can be adjusted with moderate force, but stay in place even when you tap the screen. The two hinges attach the stand to the base and the easel to the stand. This gives you a lot of flexibility on how vertical or flat the screen should be and how high the screen should be. The stand is approximately 6 inches long with the easel approximately 4 inches from the top of the stand. So the bottom of your tablet is about 2 inches from the table top when it is in the lowest position. Lamicall works well with my 9 1/2 inch tablet in both portrait and landscape modes.
