I gave 3 stars because it's not very comfortable, mainly because it gets very hot, when used and I thought it would help keep my guinea pigs at bay but he still managed to escape quite easily. Also, they can be easily knocked over if they are not positioned correctly and the pet moves too much. However, it's designed to get close, so it's probably just best for pets that want to be immobile. Washing was pretty easy because you can use your own washing machine but it seemed like a waste of water and electricity because I did the laundry myself as there was an animal in it. I don't really think it's worth $30, but if you don't mind spending then it's mostly personal preference and how you use it and with what animal.
