I used the size chart as a guide, but also took into account the elastic waistband. I'm 5 x 5 and my waist (measured at my belly button) is 35 inches. I bought this skirt in a large size and it fits comfortably. Not tight and not loose. In the photo I wear the skirt a little higher on the waist as I like the way it looks. The skirt has a great drape and is so lightweight that even for us fashion-conscious people it can be worn on hotter days. The skirt comes with a matching tie at the waist while remaining wrinkle-free, making it perfect for grab-and-go. the feeling that the silhouette of your legs/thighs can be seen. This can be corrected with church dungarees. Overall this skirt was a perfect purchase that I would recommend to anyone asking for it. If the opportunity arises, I would buy it again in a different color. I hope you like it!
