I wanted a lightweight glass jug or jug to drain water from my reverse osmosis filter on the counter (quicker filling a glass of water than waiting, pressure filter every time). This pitcher looks beautiful and is very light. I haven't tried anything very hot (tea) or cold (ice) so can't comment on how it handles temperature changes, but it's perfect for my needs. I haven't had any problems with leaks or water drips when pouring. I used to use a plastic bottle, but I don't like the idea of all my water being plastic.
