This turned out to be the perfect item for my needs. I have a glass table that is about 1/4" tall that is needed to install a Vivo clamp style monitor arm. I realized this is pretty risky on my desk, but I didn't have anything to consider as a DYI- solution that would fit., then i found this.it is perfect for distributing arm strength even on my thin desk.both the bottom and the top are metal and thin enough that the top part of my desk no problem and the base fits easily between my desk frame and the glass top Definitely worth the price to be able to use my perfect desk setup while knowing it won't break.
