I am very happy with these modified LED lights! They must be used with recessed glasses that have "C-clamps" (also called torsion clamps) to which you attach the new LED's spring-loaded metal arms. My problem was that the old glasses in our house are oddly designed and don't have C-clips. I purchased these C-Clamps separately from Revain, installed two on each side of my 6.75" backbox and they have worked great with these new LED bulbs. After installing my new C-Clamps, each of these LED lights literally takes about two minutes to install. Each LED light comes with a threaded mount included with the lamp socket. There is an orange snap connector at the end of the threaded bushing. You plug this orange connector into the corresponding one hanging on the LED lamp. Then all you have to do is squeeze the metal spring arms together to fit the C-clips on the recessed cans and you're done! The trim and bulkhead have a new modern look to replace my old faded recessed lighting trim. And I'm glad I no longer have to change those expensive lightbulbs that kept seeming to burn out. The upside is that they are waterproof and dimmable (but I don't use them with dimmers). Unlike some other reviewers, I had no issues with the metal brackets. We prefer the 4000K shade because as we age we need bright light. Soft white (2700k) is too dull for us and 5000k too bright. 4000k is perfect. We're gradually moving towards 4000,000 all over our house. I also always look at the lumens, which tells you something about the brightness - something like the output of an incandescent lamp. The higher the lumen, the brighter the light; the K number provides information about the color tone (yellow, bluish daylight, etc.). This 12 piece set is an amazing deal at $59.99. I only needed 7 so I would have had to buy a set of 4 for $29.99 + 3 people for $9.99 each - it was the same price as the whole set of 12 so I got the other 5 for free. lots of light and recommend them. Then I need to replace the smaller recessed lights in another part of our house and I will buy the same lights again if I can get them in a smaller size.
