I noticed that there are several reviews saying this item doesn't work. This item works exactly as described. But I don't think people who say it doesn't work actually read all the information on the subject. First of all, you can only use cookware that has a magnet attached to the bottom. So for the most part that means stainless steel cookware and an iron skillet. DO NOT use: • Aluminum - No! • Glass - No! • Ceramics like Corningware – No! • Plastic - No! Hob, the hob itself does not heat up. If you have seen or used other glass hobs where you see the red rings underneath getting hot, it is not the same as this article. If you turn it on and place a stainless steel pan on it, the bottom of the stainless steel pan will be heated, not the hob itself. Now it's clear that after you've been cooking for a while and the pan is really hot, the heat will be transferred back to the hob. So you don't want to touch the hob as the heat transfer will make it hot. I've used several of these so I'm familiar with them. This one works well, but there are a few caveats you need to be aware of. The only way to turn it on is to connect it to the network. So when you stop using it, you need to turn it off. But wait for the fans to stop before turning it off. There are fans on the underside. Although you can use both burners at the same time, you cannot turn them to maximum power (10) at the same time. This is a 1800W stove. So you can have one at high level and one at low level... Both at average level... And so on. You also need to make sure you read the user manual before plugging it in. Because as soon as you plug it in, the light comes on. blinks, but that doesn't mean it's on. Then you need to press the power button, then press the temperature button, then press the plus button, then you can also press the timer if you like. But it's all in the manual. But like I said, the hob itself doesn't heat up. First you need to put a stainless steel pan on it. You must do this before you start pressing any buttons, because if you start pressing the buttons and then wait too long to put a pot or pan on them, they will reset. Then you have to start over. Again, I really like this type of hob. They really work great. It's nice to have something like this for extra burners if you need them or for cooking outside or just keeping warm. But it takes a little time to get used to them. So if you are new to this style of cooking, be patient. Once you see how it works, you'll probably really like it.
