They hold up way better than other ankle boots we've tried, including some that look like balloons. They don't offer much traction on ice but are definitely thicker and therefore probably warmer. Although they may take a little longer to bounce back, appreciate their thoughtful design - Velcro straps fasten in opposite directions to keep them in place. However, as with all booties, you need to put them on quickly, not too tight, but tight enough that they don't fall off. All in all, I highly recommend them!
