I ordered the wrong item but this is a great carving knife. For the same price as the 6" version, this item is a real knife. It's thicker than it should be (1/8″ tip) but very light and lively in the hand, this isn't a knife for those who are accustomed to the ordinary blunt knives commonly found in the kitchen.Most injuries from kitchen knives in the home are due to excessive stress being put on blunt knives when cutting.This knife comes very sharp from the factory and experience tells me that it comes with good steel is very easy to sharpen.The problem for most users of this knife will be its length and the sharpness of its length.Things to keep in mind when using this blade.This is a cutter, not a utility knife;you will cut yourself if You use it as a utility knife, but it excels as a dedicated carver.
