These are excellent strong ties. I have several gardening activities that require me to provide shade using 10' x 20' tents. Many times a year it is very difficult to bury a conventional auger mount in the ground. They are very easy to spread and hammer spikes into the ground with a nail hammer; and they are very easy to remove when broken.
