The Razer Huntsman Elite V2 Analog is a luxury item. Analog key functions, customizable and interactive backlighting, and multifunctional keystrokes justify the cost. It's a pleasure to type on, the palm rest is very comfortable, and the construction feels durable. Synapse, the keyboard programming and customization software, requires a small learning curve but is generally intuitive. Unfortunately, as you see in other reviews, these devices have some fatal flaws. First, the keyboard is often unregistered. all keystrokes after a system cold boot. The only way to re-enable the keyboard is to unplug the USB cable and plug it back in. That means you have to periodically crawl under the table to reconnect. This happens after almost every cold boot or when resuming from sleep/hibernation. Second, the keys are randomly registered as continuing to be pressed after being released. This causes characters to become repetitive when typing or perform unintended actions while playing. Pressing the button again clears the error condition. Having been able to reliably reproduce the issue every 15 minutes or so of gaming, there is no physical reason for it (e.g. a physically stuck button). Both problems go away after closing the Synapse application. However, this removes most of the board's functionality (lighting, analog display, etc.). Razer support was friendly but generally unhelpful, instructing us to use compressed air to blow off any potential residue from freshly completed keyboards and to perform a clean install of all Razer software. All troubleshooting steps have been repeated to be thorough. They eventually concluded that the equipment we purchased was defective and began replacing the equipment. Since these issues are very easy to reproduce on multiple systems with multiple devices, and other reviews say the same issues exist with their hardware, it's strange that support didn't recognize them as known issues. If I knew that these issues would be fixed at some point in the future, or that Razer were aware of the issues, I would have more confidence in the hardware and other Razer products in general. Considering the cost of the devices, I wouldn't expect to deal with such egregious problems. If you really want trouble-free luxury, don't waste your money on this faulty product.
