The sound has been criticized by many, however it can be improved by installing the official program (Headphones connect) and adjusting the equalizer settings to your liking. When I put it on, it sticks very far into my ear, so the noise reduction it gives isn't nearly as much as I'd hoped. In general, I bought it for my wife, and she has now switched out the ear pads and is thoroughly enjoying her newfound freedom on foot. I've heard that the video is unwatchable (the sound is much behind the movie), but my wife was able to watch it with no problems at all (Samsung s9 phone, in the Headphones connect application priority is set on sound quality, and not on connection stability). How it happened is a mystery to me; it could have something to do with the headphones' battery life, the headphones' bluetooth version, or both. One of the earpieces works as a bluetooth headset, thus it can be used in that capacity. The call is reliable and both parties can be heard clearly. Even with the noise reduction turned up, it is difficult to have a conversation with the person standing next to you while wearing them. This is a very compelling argument. We were satisfied with the purchase until the headphones quit functioning after five months. A squeaky noise started coming from the charging port, and eventually one of the headphones stopped charging altogether. Despite being a Sony service facility, the one in my city (Hong Kong) told me they do not repair this product (how this is possible is something that I still do not get). The money was sent to Hong Kong, where it was decided to be returned. If the procedure is too hard to fix, you may need to throw away the headphones altogether. Don't forget this when looking for headphones. It was only my luck that the issue presented up inside the guarantee time; else, it could have been much later.
