We ordered two of these power supplies for our laptops so we could have two workstations without running the power cords. They're labeled as genuine Dell PSUs, and while one worked great, the other was DOA. These supplies have a blue LED on the end of the cable to indicate power and when I plugged it in that LED lit up, then went off a few seconds later before I even plugged the laptop in and never came on again. The other worked fine. We sent the defective one back and the replacement works perfectly too. One thing I noticed is that when I reinserted this power supply, the brick was next to my LCD monitor and this was causing flickering and scrolling noise lines. My original Dell PSU was in the same location and didn't interfere. The power supply in this power supply is much thinner and lighter than the one that came with my laptop, so maybe it's just less shielded in its design. . I was able to realign the brick's position to eliminate the interference. However, I would like to point out that this thinner and lighter power supply generates more noise. Note that I tested the interference with a second power supply doing the same thing, so this wasn't a one-off issue. Overall, though, I recommend these power supplies. They're genuine Dell, and while returning them was a hassle, they were still significantly cheaper than buying from Dell.
