I carefully inspected and disassembled these mask air check valves and found them to be poorly made. 1. The silicone seal/flap allows air to pass through at a low suction rate, which is common with most masks as the air also passes through the filter. It only appears to be fully functional when the air intake has been concentrated directly in the valve due to the higher air intake velocity driving the shutdown.2. The plastic case is of poor quality and the brackets shouldn't last very long before it falls apart.3. This is not a precisely manufactured valve and as such I would not rate it as 100% effective, it can even affect mask filtration by allowing unwanted air to escape the valve.4. Not recommended for medical use
