The loss of bass and bass detail was very noticeable. My system needs all the bass it can get since I don't use a subwoofer. And this unit tightened and reduced the bass in a very unpleasant way. That was the main reason I didn't like this product. In terms of reducing high peaks or harshness, I found a simple repositioning of the speakers to be more effective. I also tried the IFI silencer and it compresses the sound even more. Dynamics, punch suffer even more with this device.
