I chose these side tables for my mother. She needed something to keep next to the chair. I admit I didn't read the description properly. I thought it was a bar table, not two tables stacked on top of each other. I took the parts out of the box and noticed that nothing was marked. This makes it difficult to assemble the item unless the parts are marked. The instructions are terrible. They are simple (pictures). Some parts may look the same, but they are not. It took me almost an hour and a half (or so) to put these two little tables together. Be careful with the details as the extras were not included. The hardest part was getting the clamps on the pole (which raise the table). This is almost impossible without two people and a flathead screwdriver. Once assembled these are good tables. We had to stack them together to get the desired height. It is durable and looks beautiful. The quality is actually quite good (if you calm down and look at it). If I were a drinking woman I would have needed a large bottle of wine afterwards (I went for the sweets instead). I would not recommend using this desk for a laptop (unless you have a small laptop). My mom loves to tilt the top of her e-reader. If you can handle assembly, you'll love your new side tables.
