I have installed these cases on their laptop cameras for friends and clients with no problem. Just look at the various light sources and sensors around the camera to determine its position. However, Apple has discouraged installing these types of covers on their new laptops because of the tight tolerances they can "break" the bezel around the camera when the cover is closed. Make up your own mind, but I haven't found any issues with any other laptop.
