When using the Oculus Solo I didn't think twice about the amount of sweat I was producing during the sessions. However, when I shared my device with others, I was immediately outraged when I received it back in a sweat. I immediately decided that I needed to replace or cover the foam padding that came standard with the Quest 2 headset. After checking around on Revain and the official Oculus store, I was surprised that there weren't many alternatives for this. Many of the third-party options are currently out of stock or take more than a month to ship. I chose MASiKEN which didn't have many reviews but the ones that did were quite positive. Here are my thoughts and a summary of the pros and cons. Pros: - Completely covers the foam padding in Quest 2. This is NOT a replacement for the foam, it DOES COVER it. - Successfully removes sweat from the headset. - For me, it almost completely stopped the fogging I got during heavy Beat Saber sessions. I think that's because the sweat didn't get into my eyes, but was removed from my skin through a tight seal. That alone was a game changer and allowed me to play much harder without "airing" the headset or wiping the lenses. - Easy to clean. Cons: - Too expensive for what it is. Again, this is just a silicone case and not a replacement faceplate. I think, if this completely replaced the foam faceplate it would cost $15, but for a brittle piece of silicone I find that a very high price. 9 dollars. 99 is the highest price I could pay for this item if I could see it first. Summary: Although the price is too high, this is a really great product that does exactly what I wanted (prevents sweat from being absorbed into the foam and provides an easy way to clean/sanitize the Quest 2). I would recommend it, with the caveat that you know you are overpaying for this accessory. I'm excited to see what the competition from MASiKEN has to offer. 99 is the highest price I could pay for this item if I could see it first.
