Review on Python No Spill Clean & Fill Aquarium Maintenance System - Enhancing Your Aquarium with Easy Maintenance by April Simpson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not for ages, serious problems with the whole setup.

I have 7 pools with an ATM, most of which have daily water changes (Hooray Discus! . :( ) and so this thing gets (or rather SHOULD) get A LOT of regular use as long as the end of the hose is below the top of the aquarium.- The diameter of the hose is large enough to last a lifetime of cleaning and filling aquariums.Cons:- A simple drain and fill adapter is completely useless to me.It cannot create a siphon to drain the tanks and it takes two steps to fill it instead of connecting the hose directly to the faucet, to vacuum the tank I just run the hose to the outside which is the lowest point (or in my experience most) faucets This has been mentioned in many other reviews It only costs a few dollars to repair but it is the time it takes to find The part that adds value to this product t gives - The plastic suction pipe is fragile, even a light tap can damage it. crash under the right circumstances. - The quick on/off valve near the vacuum hose has been stuck in the half open position since product arrival and was replaced with a metal fitting from Home Depot for a few bucks. Do not replace any parts on this directly from the start gate. - Hose can break at medium pressure! Be very, very careful, this hose is not designed to take a lot of pressure. It exploded right under the faucet connector and made a complete mess all over my bathroom and water hall after I was pressurized for 10 seconds. It's an easy fix, but I won't risk it anymore and will replace it with a regular water pressure hose. Overall, I don't recommend buying this entire setup. Save yourself a lot of trouble: 1. Buy the vacuum tube you want (in various lengths) if you don't want to build it yourself. 2. Buy an on/off valve connector, they are sold almost everywhere including Wal-Mart.3. Purchase any garden hose that meets your needs (e.g. narrow diameter, flexible, extendable, etc.).4. Buy a faucet adapter, which you will most likely need anyway to connect your garden hose to your faucet. Gather everything together.6. Give yourself a pat on the back for a plant that is unlikely to explode and flood your home.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • So far so good
