I bought these shears because I need some serious shears for my workshop work and want to be able to sharpen them I'm tired of the plastic handles that break like my orange Fiskars. These mundials are large and bulky, with long blades and huge hilts. I wear 7 1/2 surgical gloves. The handles seem too big to me. If you like to keep your index finger on the side of the scissors and not in the bottom loop, these scissors may be difficult to control. With heavy material, when you want all four fingers in the bottom loop, the shear force. You seem more comfortable in the store than in the classroom. I think the 8" Mundial scissors might do better as a household scissors set. As far as the finish goes, these are beautiful, professionally made scissors that feel precise and make clean, easy cuts out of paper They are also good for cutting out PLA supports from 3D printed parts, they aren't as terribly sharp as my Ginghers (and still are), but I wouldn't carelessly run my finger over the blade either; these are very sharp.(EDIT: Now that I've used them more, they're actually terribly sharp; handle with care.) The action feels like someone took the time to carefully string them before packaging beautifully made. They arrived in excellent condition in a lovely soft cardboard presentation box. I use camellia oil to weatherproof these scissors as I do other steel tools.
