Review on Honeywell Replacement Reusable Designed Natural Breeze by Ryan Hampton

I live in Colorado. I bought this filter on December 7th so I can reuse it. It arrived on time and was in good condition. It was folded up and placed in a USPS bag which was a very poor decision! Attempting to open the packaging can cut the filter. By January 23rd I have used and refilled this humidifier 3 or 4 times. I can't wash it clean enough. This is what the filter looks like after washing, but this is what it looked like before I washed it in hot water and rubbed it to clean it. I will also clean the car because the dust has settled on the walls of the tank inside. Colorado is very dry and dusty, the filter that the humidifier came with worked better to provide clean air and is preferable as it is disposable and lasts a bit longer than this "reusable filter" and is cheaper to use. I was hesitant if this filter would work based on all the other reviews. But it is as shown in my picture. This filter has not made us dirty for a long time. Unfortunately I can't clean it. I bought it thinking I could clean it and reuse it as a new clean filter. I just removed the lid to see how it looks since I bought it. I hope it won't mold easily because it certainly does NOT clean up well. I'll soak it in Dawn's soapy water and see if I can clean it up. Then I'll try again. Until now, I wouldn't recommend buying this $27 non-washable filter unless you can save money because it's NOT washable. This filter didn't leave any residue in the canister like the original filter (the filter that came with the humidifier). This filter might not take too much rubbing so I'm not sure how often we can use it even if I manage to clean it. The filter thickness is about 3 inches. A humidifier works well if you wake up with a nosebleed from dry air. I have 3 of these humidifiers in the Colorado area and am about 3200 sq ft. As we have just retired from the Navy and the humidifier has had good reviews I trust this brand from previous purchases and it is a quick and affordable fix. I LOVE the humidifier but I'm still on the fence about the filter.
