Review on πŸš— YEHAM 3-Inch Car Engine Piston Ring Compressor Tool & Piston Ring Pliers, Enhanced with Adjustable Safety Screws by Joseph Lang

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works for this task but definitely more for the hobbyist

I used this to convert a small Ford block. The compressor is easy to use and the spring action keeps it taut well. When tightening, the spring will begin to move, which can cause problems installing the piston if left unnoticed. I had to constantly adjust the compression spring while tightening to get it to properly line up with itself. It works, but as with anything, rebuilding an engine takes time, maybe a little more time with this tool. The ring tool isn't great, but then again, it will get the job done. The rings just slipped out of my jaw every time and I had to adjust until they held just like that and then quickly put them on. Not much better than just sliding them (which is not recommended for compression rings).

Pros
  • Fits from 2-1/8" to 7" (53mm - 175mm)
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
