Review on Dog Life Jacket: Pet Floatation Vest for Swimming, Pool, Beach, and Boating - Lifesaver Preserver Swimsuit with Handle for Dogs of All Sizes by Katie Atencio

Total failure, uncertain.

I bought this for my 9 lb toy poodle and it didn't live up to the hype. I bought the medium based on reviews and measurements. Outside the pool, this life jacket is great. It turned out to be comfortable and adjustable, with a handle on top. The chin rest was the main attraction when buying it as I wanted to keep as much water out of his face as possible. Once he was dressed and he was in the pool, I started noticing problems. The buckle adjustments around the belly and chin do not stay in place, they loosen once tightened. The chin rest didn't stay afloat, my pup essentially took water in the thing and ironically got depressed. The back end of the life jacket floated but the front end didn't, so his face was in the water the whole time. When we adjusted the life jacket's Velcro around the pup's belly, we found that the Velcro would stretch securely over his fur. . When he was pre-soaked from the pool, that velcro was still tugging and tugging and clinging to his skin. All in all this item was an accident, we won't be using it again and to be honest if it hadn't been so flooded after the first hit in the pool we would have returned it. Overall, this item was a big disappointment. Most of the time in the pool I played around with this life jacket trying to make it work and justify the dollars spent. Pup was a lot of fun but wow. Big mistake on my part when buying.
