Some pins are not connected

I am using this extension cable to connect the USB Type-C on the front of the SilverStone SST-RL05BR-W chassis to the Gigabyte H370 Aorus Gaming 3 Wi-Fi motherboard When I connect a Kingston flash drive microDuo, 121MB/s read speed as expected. However, if you connect a smartphone using the "USB Type-C to Micro-USB" adapter cable, the smartphone is either not recognized or only works in charging mode (i.e. without data transfer). The reason is the missing connection of some pins in the extension cable (see below). As proof, the smartphone is fully functional when I connect it to the USB Type-C on the back of the mainboard using the same adapter cables. The product name mentions "20cm". It is not true. The actual length of this extension cord is 24.5 cm. The total length including plugs is 32 cm. Small connector: - The "SS10" marking on the case can be read as "supports 10 Gbps". But that would be a wrong assumption as the other side of the cable is labeled "USB 3.0" which only supports 5 Gbps. - The connector has 20 pins. Four of these pins are unsoldered to the corresponding pins on the other side of the cable: P8 (CC1), P9 (SBU1), P10 (SBU2), and P20 (CC2). CC means Configuration Channel, SBU means Sideband. - Pin 8 (CC1) is connected to ground with a 5.0 kΩ resistor. - The screen is connected to earth. Large Connector: - Marked "USB 3.0" on the case means the cable supports data transfer rates up to 5Gb/s. - The connector has 19 pins. The resistance for all pairs of contacts, measured with a digital multimeter in continuity mode, is 0.00 ohms. Cable identification: E301195 RAU AWM STYLE USB REVISION 3.1 PAK HENG. This cable is made in China as stated on the orange box.
